"My painting style could be best described as that of a colorist. The first impression of color generated by the scene I am considering both excites and carries me through the journey.

"The Agricultural Landscape, whether flush with produce, or resting and spent, is my choice of subject matter. Initially, I am drawn by a particular spark of color and then feel bound to make you feel the heat, the sound of the insects and the fragrance of the rich soil, fruit and foliage. I hope my paintings will not be a mere representation or copy of the subject matter, but will record the joy felt in the moment and will tell you, the viewer, about the redness of the clay, the warmth of the sun, the sweetness of the day".
